STAINLESS STEEL FABRICATORS - Calgary

We are looking for Experienced Custom Stainless Steel Fabricators with a proven track record to join our team.

Responsibilities:

In this position, you will work on projects from shop drawings through fabrication of architectural and light structural components and finally installation at commercial construction job sites or residential homes.

This will involve the following:
• Reading and interpreting architectural drawings, blueprints and/or shop drawings including work specifications and detailing information to determine sequence and method of fabrication
• Laying out, measuring and marking dimensions and reference lines as indicated on the drawings onto sheet metal using scribers, dividers, squares and rulers
• Applying knowledge of shop mathematics and layout techniques to develop and trace patterns to product (or use templates)
• Using hand and power tools or light metal-working equipment such as a shear to cut sheet metal
• Operating light metal-working machines which may include brakes, punches, and drill presses and forming rolls to bend, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal according to drawings or verbal instructions
• Trimming, filing, grinding, de-burring, buffing, and smoothing seams, joints and rough surfaces, using hand tools or portable power tools
• Welding, soldering, bolting, screwing, clipping, caulking and bonding component parts to assemble products with the use of hand tools, power tools, and equipment
• Working with stainless steel, mild steel and other sheet metals as required
• Operating company vehicles
• Working within the companyīs health and safety regulations

Requirements:
• Desire to produce a high-quality product
• Read and interpret shop drawings
• Sheet metal layout, welding, polishing and installation experience
• Commercial construction job site experience
• Experience in TIG welding of light gauge stainless and light gauge metals would be an asset
• Able to work independently and with others
• Willingness to learn
• Attention to detail
• Valid driverīs license with a clean driverīs abstract
• Have access to a personal vehicle to get to/from shop/job site
• Able to work flexible hours when projects require
• Be physically able to perform duties

1st YEAR SHEET METAL  APPRENTICE - Calgary

We are looking for a skilled 1st year sheet metal apprentice to join our team.

Responsibilities:

This job involves a variety of tasks from working in the shop fabricating/assisting in fabricating architectural and light structural components to installing the finished product at commercial construction job sites.

This may involve some or all of the following:
• Reading and interpreting architectural drawings, blueprints and/or shop drawings including work specifications and detailing information to determine sequence and method of fabrication
• Laying out, measuring and marking dimensions and reference lines as indicated on the drawings onto sheet metal using scribers, dividers, squares and rulers
• Applying knowledge of shop mathematics and layout techniques to develop and trace patterns to product (or use templates)
• Using hand and power tools or light metal-working equipment such as a shear to cut sheet metal

GENERAL SHOP HELPER/DRIVER - Calgary

We are looking for a General Helper/Driver. This is an entry level position and is a great opportunity to try the sheet metal and/or welding trade.

Responsibilities:

This job involves a variety of tasks from working in a fabrication shop to driving company vehicles to working on a commercial construction job site.

Some of the tasks include but are not limited to:
• Use of hand tools to assist in fabricating metal products
• Assisting others on the job site or in the shop
• Loading and unloading vehicles
• Driving company vehicles (including a cube van, cargo vans and pick-up trucks)
• Transporting raw materials and finished metal products
• Pick-up/delivery of product
• Cleaning work areas and equipment

Requirements:
• Valid driverīs license with a clean driverīs abstract
• Physically able to perform duties
• Access to a personal vehicle to get to/from shop/job site
• Able to work flexible hours when projects require
• Able to work independently and with others
• Willing to learn
• Attention to detail
• Desire to produce a high quality product
• Shop experience including fabrication would be an asset
• Commercial construction job site experience would be an asset
• An interest in the sheet metal and/or welding trade are assets.


APPRENTICE SHEET METAL WORKER - Commercial Construction Site - Edmonton


These are temporary full time project-based positions and will last until completion of the project in late fall and are located in downtown Edmonton.

The Sheet Metal Apprentice will report to the Field Coordinator and is responsible for assisting in day-to-day finishing installation on a new construction project.

Responsibilities:
• Follow detailed installation instructions
• TIG weld light gauge stainless steel or mild steel
• Use hand and power tools proficiently
• Help to move and store materials and product
• Deliver the quality our customers have come to expect
• Maintain clean and safe work areas
• Troubleshoot basic problems
• Work independently and as a team
• Assist other team members and other related duties as assigned

Your Experience and Qualifications
• 2nd or 3rd year Sheet Metal Apprentice
• 1 or 2 years experience working on a commercial construction site
• TIG welding experience
• Ability to read shop drawings and blueprints
• Ability to use and read measure devices (e.g. tape measures, rulers, calipers, etc)
• Ability to apply concepts of basic math
• Good hand skills and an eye for detail
• Ability to learn and execute new tasks
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Able to work flexible hours when projects require

These temporary individuals will be assigned to one project to begin immediately and is expected to last until late fall.
